Happy blog-iversary to me!

A year ago today, I nervously published my first ever blog post.

Since then, I’ve made dresses:

…tops:

…skirts:

…and accessories:

I’ve discovered that maxi is an awesome skirt length:

…and a grown woman can wear a petticoat:

I’ve learned how to crochet:

and sew a french seam:

…and that my natural waist line is not in fact just an inch above my tummy button, as I’d previously been  told.

From knowing nobody else who sews, I’ve been introduced to loads of lovely sewists on-line… and in real life!

This year I want to:

  • learn how to sew buttonholes (eek!)
  • start filling up the major missing category in my handmade wardrobe: trousers (EEEK!)
  • and maybe, just maybe, start pushing the boat out towards selling stuff I’ve made.

Thankyou to all of you who’ve commented here at Diana & Me over the past year, and inspired me through your own blogs.  Cheers!

  1. Happy Blogiversary!! Fantastic creations last year, I look forward to see what you do this year!! And it was lovely to meet you at the Bombshell meet up 🙂

  2. ‘One Year’ – you achieved so much in just 12 short months. Know you will conquer even more in your 2nd year (even the EEEK Pants)….Happy Blogiversary and here’s to many more…

  3. My gosh, you have achieved a mountain of things in just one year! And all your makes fit beautifully and look well-finished! Well done, I really look forward to seeing what you make in 2012!

  4. Thanks everyone for your lovely lovely comments! I feel very encouraged to face my trouser fears.
It’s been such a fun year, both making things and meeting up with some of you. Sadly I can’t make the upcoming meet-ups in Scotland or Brighton, so fingers crossed someone arranges another one soon!
Oh and there is a giveaway in the pipeline… it’s just taking a bit longer to do than I expected…

  7. Hey,

Lovely blog site – well done you. I’m a beginner and just made my first dress. If you are looking for how to do trousers grab the April Burda magazine – it has a beginners guide to make trousers along with the pattern… I’m going to try these next month (jumpsuit for me next!)

    Keep up the great work,
    Dice
